A scanner is a way of converting a picture on a piece of paper into
a picture on your computer. We will look at how to install a scanner,
find its driver and then start using
the scanner. We will then look at storing
and editting images.
If you buy a scanner then it will typically come with some software.
It is usually on a CD, but could be on a floppy disk. It is worth just
plugging the scanner into your computer and seeing if it works. Most scanners
connect with a USB plug. Try re-starting your computer and seeing if it
works.
If it doesn't work then you will need to install the software.
If you don't have the software, you will then need to find the right
software and install it.
